10 Tips for Choosing Tiles and Buying Tiles | Part-2

Blend in Those Grout Lines: Grout is essential to seal the gap among tiles. If the grout color and tile color doesn’t match, then it will definitely change and ultimately damage the actual design of a room. So before installing tiles, one should also make sure that same color grout is also available in the market which will exactly match the tile color.

Bigger isn’t Always Better: If your area of tile installation is relatively smaller or it is around fittings/fixtures, then you should choose small size tiles to give a better flow. You may decide to cut larger tiles into small for using in such places, but at this there is high likelihood of breaking plenty of tiles. So choose smaller sized tiles for small areas and around fittings/fixtures.

Use Borders and Decors: Breaking up wall tiling with border tiles and décor is often a great idea which adds extra interest and fascinating view of a tiling floor.

Check Suitability: Before choosing any particular tiles finally, one should carefully make sure that the PEI rating of that particular floor tile is suitable enough for installing in the intended area. While checking suitability, one should also decide about which kinds of tiles, whether ceramic or porcelain tiles, he should use in any particular area. It’s not really tough to decide as it looks like. For example, if the intended area of installation is subject to high abrasion or traffic, you should choose and install porcelain tiles in such area. On the other hand, if there is likelihood of less of no traffic like wall, then ceramic tile would be the best.

Maintenance- Get the Right Advice: Before buying any kind of tiles, one should at first gather information about how that tile should be properly maintained. If any tile requires little efforts to clean and maintain, it would be the best.

Don’t Be Afraid to Ask for Advice: If you aren’t sure about something or have any queries, then don’t hesitate to ask sales man or sales assistant before making the purchase. These sales assistants are usually trained to answer all your queries. If you don’t hesitate and ask them for advice, it might bring things for your consideration which you may not otherwise considered.

I hope you enjoyed the entire post and learn something new today. If anyone considers all these things that I mentioned earlier, he will definitely be able to choose the most appropriate tiles for enhancing his home décor.
